Objections might be a good choice for a fairly informal text. It gives the idea of people assessing him and finding him wanting in certain respects. It also fits well with 'en su contra' as you can have objections 'against him'.

Complaints might be an alternative to consider. It also fits in well with the idea of people considering him and reasoning about him suggested by 'argumentos' but goes further, almost suggesting that people have verbalised their objections. This might not be the case in your text.

You may finally want to consider 'grievances' - more serious than complaints, but not accommodating 'against him' so well since one has grievances about something rather than against something.
