Oliver, when commenting on your answer, I clearly highlighted ***on the truth of***, as this part of your translation patently makes no sense in English.

I don't think it is a case of you "letting me off the hook". Your translation of "working boys, girls and adolescents, and would-be workers" is erroneous by any standard, and "boys, girls and adolescents" is clunky at best.

That said, I will respect your request that I refrain from commenting on any of your future translation efforts.

Allow me to express my feeling that some of your comments directed at Jack have become a little too personal.

"You do seem to have a lot of opinions, don't you?" and “You condemn yourself through ... your ignorance” are personal attacks rather than constructive comments. I feel strongly that remarks directed at the contributor rather than the content do not help to make a point; they just damage the KudoZ community and deter other users from taking part.

Sorry no; I'm not letting you off the hook; you reject "up to date" as a possible translation of 'actualizado'; you patently didn't read the footnote on the missing dash, which you took as part of the sentence; 'the truth of' is better expressed as 'the true state of' ,(I admit), a meaning which was lost on you; there is nothing wrong with defining the categories literally ; you do seem to have a lot of opinions don't you ?- Stangely they didn't stop you selecting an unidiomatic answer- think about it, the meaning of 'at risk of child labour' what it means semantically; and if this is the level of your criticism,then please just avoid my answers altogether as your attitude grates and we'll only fall out;

I'm sorry you feel that way. I was merely pointing out what I viewed as deficiencies in your translation. Jenny's translation is coherent, well-written and accurate; yours, on the other hand, is not. Perhaps others will contribute to this discussion.

Also, it is unnecessary (and poor style) in my opinion, to translate "niños, niñas y adolescentes" as "boys, girls and adolescents." "Children and adolescents" would be a much more natural rendering in English.

"Would-be" is used to refer to someone who aspires/aims to achieve something (but is usually foiled before they can achieve their objective) and as such is unsuitable in this context.

Elsewhere, "up-to-date information on the truth of..." is not standard English.

You have also drawn a distinction between boys, girls, adolescents and would-be workers. The boys, girls and adolescents ARE the "would-be" workers and so your translation, aside from everything else, does not accurately convey the content of the ST.
