El planteamiento de la propuesta [...] moviéndonos hacia The proposal to [...] will raise awareness [...] in the general public Explanation: In my view “planteamiento” (approach) is redundant here, as it’s too synonymous with “move toward” (moviéndonos hacia) — it can either be one or the other, but not both. At any rate, I would translate “moviéndonos hacia” as “raise awareness […] in the general public” to sound natural in English. I would also break the sentence up and rearrange it a bit, for easier readability. See below. Hope this helps :) Example sentence(s):

The suggestion that we should celebrate rights and move towards... Explanation: "plantear una propuesta" means "to make a suggestion". First we "celebrate" the rights, then we move to the next stage which is to "divulgar los derechos" (make the public aware of the rights). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 22 horas (2012-02-04 09:35:52 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- as per Muriel's suggestion, the word order could be rearranged as follows: "The suggestion/idea that we should celebrate the rights of people living with HIV and move toward promoting them amongst the public, and particularly towards treating these people well, is an initiative that starts from a process of reflection..." |
