Wait a minute; this is serious business that you're helping some folks to translate! The thing is that it is 'fun' for me to work with the difficult terms that need to be dealt with correctly; I like 'words' and my off-time is sometimes spent at the library or bookstore. :) On this Query, yes since we don't know exactly what the folks of reference do in their work, the generic translation 'documentatioon specialist' may fit the context best. Yes, I don't find 'documentator', as such, in any of the dictionaries that I happen to have. But I find 'documentalist' (person engaged in keeping records & providing information) and 'documentarist' (person engaged in factual photography of documentaries / expert historical analyst). I might suggest also 'documentation specialist', just for fun. No dictionary can contain ALL of the possible words in its language, anyway. For that matter, the source word doesn't appear in any of my Spanish or bilingual dictionaries, either. This IS fun, and both important & profitable, too. :)

Thank you Richard, provisionally I have translated documentador as "documentator", although this word doesn't probably exist in English. On the other hand I know the UC from UCP stands for "Unidad Central", and since the P can probably apply both to Spanish and English, I have put PCU, which is a safe option. Let's see if someone has more ideas about "documentador".

In an apparent list of assigned resources & personnel for organizing an anti-AIDS campaign and support for sufferers, my wild guess (hence this Discussion comment rather than an Answer) is that the team would need 'survey-takers' or 'fact-finders' to actually contact the women in question and find out what their needs and risks are, and to follow up on the women who are medically treated or are trained about AIDS and see how they are doing after the team's activities with them. 'UCP' could be for 'unidad central de personal (efectiva)', perhaps.
