Por el contexto y pensando que tal vez esté escrito por un Mexicano, me parece que "dar un giro" solamente puede querer decir cambiar el tipo de negocio. Es decir, la persona que redacta esa oración tiene un negocio que desagrada a sus vecinos, puede entender incluso que quieran dar un giro al negocio (cambiar su ámbito).
