Por ejemplo: Si en un hotel se contratan animadores de playa, al terminar el verano se dan de BAJA TEMPORAL ya que se contratan de nuevo al siguiente verano. No se despiden por que si no se borraría el historial, etc.

neutral  philgoddard: I think you have to say "temporary" - it can also be permanent. //"Layoff is the temporary suspension or permanent termination of employment of an employee or (more commonly) a group of employees for business reasons" (Wikipedia)

agree  Lisa Grayson: "Seasonal layoff" is the best translation of the phrase in context. "Temporal" (Sp.) and "temporary" (Eng.) are fickle linguistic friends. The summer workers will be put on a seasonal layoff -- temporary, yes, but seasonal is more precise.
