If *constant* were the noun, than the phrase in spanish should be "la constante inmediata superior"

aunque es una frase muy rara que intenta sintentizar demasiado. Debería poner: "Tiempo de paso de una clase diamétrica a la inmediata superior que mantenga valores constantes".

NO, in my proposal constant is an adjective!!!

Asker: AFAIK "constant" is a noun in the answer you propose, but in the Spanish I can't tell whether it's an adj or not... Anyway, thanks for helping on this, my mind's gone blank...
