(crescent-shaped) stays or log server Explanation: medias lunas -- could be crescent-shaped devices which hold the log at either end while it is being handled. I got the idea from this term, although it refers to shoes: Domain Industrial structures es Term refuerzo a media luna Reliability 3 (Reliable) Term Ref. Diccionario Técnico del Zapato, Ars Sutoria, Milano, s.d. Date 24/09/2003 en Term back stay Reliability 3 (Reliable) Term Ref. Footwear Technical Dictionary,Ars Sutoria,Milano,s.d. Date 24/09/2003 http://iate.europa.eu/iatediff/SearchByQuery.do?method=searc... luna&sourceLanguage=es&domain=0&matching=&start=0&next=1&targetLanguages=en servidor de trozas -- although "log server" is a computing term it it also denotes a device used in sawmills to handle logs -- this reference is to a "log server" which has gone faulty, causing a safety hazard: Primary Band Saw Log Server - Drive Motor (3 Phase) Terminal Box Cover missing exposing live terminals/conductors. http://www.hse.gov.uk/noticeshistory/notices/Notice_details.... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day6 hrs (2009-08-17 08:24:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- as an alternative to "(crescent-shaped) stays" you could put "(crescent-shaped) log holders" which would apply whether these devices hold the logs only at the ends, or along their full length as you believe -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 days2 hrs (2009-08-18 03:44:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- hola Mayra, te sugiero que controles "log dog" en Imágenes de Google para ver fotos... yo lo he hecho usando las palabras "log dog" sawmill timber (sino aparecen imagenes de perros adorables) -- pero puedes variar las palabras según el tipo de imágenes que quieres que aparezcan. http://images.google.es/images?gbv=2&hl=es&sa=1&q=+"log dog"... |
