It appears to be the Cuban equivalent of the Spanish riff ""alabín, alabán, alabimbombán" - most recently used in Manu Chao's "Me Gusta Tú." blogger traces a number of examples, including the story of a slave ship that transports children: "Otra vez aparece "Bombochie" no como canción sino como nombre del buque que transporta niños esclavos a SL38 "El Caserón Fantasma". Por lo que he podido averiguar, parece que este cántico de: "A la hurra-ra, a la hurra-ra bombo chie chie chie, a la hurra-ra, a la hurra-ra, bombo chie chie cha" es equivalente en Cuba a nuestro "alabín, alabán, alabimbombán". Y la forma de cantarlo (la che suena ka), será parecido a cómo lo hace Charly N'Ya en "Bombo Chie".
