In English law, chattels include more than animals, but it does seem that "bienes semovientes" is restricted to animals in most if not all Spanish legal systems.

  -> They are one type of chattel. Basically, a chattel is defined as a "moveable item or personal property". It includes, but is not limited to animals. A bank seems likely to use the formal legal term and to own more than animals.
