Notes to answerer
Asker: IF you know what you are looking for in ENGLISH!! Thank you.

Asker: If it had simply been that easy I would not have asked, but within the context of the above sentence I didn't know if that would be correct!!

Asker: No problem, simply that desalination is not my speciality and there are sooooo many people on here telling us how to do our work that I read it as another criticism and when you are not clear about the technical vocab, that makes it difficult to look for it in English on Google and Spanish sites are often badly translated by automatic translation progs. No offence taken. :-0))

remineralization and pH adjustment of of treated water

Explanation:
Remineralisation and pH adjustment

The desalinated water is very corrosive and is "stabilized" to protect downstream pipelines and storages, usually by adding lime or caustic to prevent corrosion of concrete lined surfaces. Liming material is used to adjust pH between 6.8 and 8.1 to meet the potable water specifications, primarily for effective disinfection and for corrosion control.
