agree  Michael Powers (PhD): This is actually more accurate. However, it is not a "high-school degree" but rather a "high school diploma" or in reference to a "high school education." It does mean more than just a "high school graduate" which is what I wrote. - Mike :)

neutral  Pilar Díez: Not really in Spain, where we distinguish between "ESO" (Secondary Education) and Bachiller itself.

  -> Pls see the Oxford definition: bachillerato m a (educación secundaria) secondary education and the qualification obtained, high school diploma (in US). "High school" is the American equivalent to the BR Secondary school, where onyl diplomas are obtained.
