¡Hola a todos!
Estoy traduciendo un certificación académica para Canadá (US English) y, como es lógico, me aparecen los siguientes términos: Troncal, Libre elección y Optativa.

Para Optativa: Elective
Para Libre eleccion: ?
Para Troncal: tengo dudas (Core subject / Majors / Compulsory)

Si pongo Elective para libre elección y Optative para optativa ¿estaría bien? Me suena tan literal ...

He estado mirando el glosario a ver si ya se había planteado esta duda, pero no lo he encontrado.

Asker: Dominirosa, si para Asignatura de Libre elección me das "Elective course", ¿qué pongo, entonces, para Optativa? Es que en España no son lo mismo. Si significa lo mismo en USA, de acuerdo.

Vas a encontrar que hay 'optional subjects' y los que se llaman 'free-elective'. Con respecto a 'troncal', el término que se suele utilizar es 'core'.
