Biology would really include animal life as well. If it is just the study of plants, the term is Botany, not Plant Biology.

agree  Marcelo González: Since the source doc is a transcript and the term in question is the name of a course, I don´t see any reason why botany wouldn´t be a good option as well. It would be interesting to see if "plant biology" is often used as a course name, specifically.
