Spanish term or phrase: "Caravana Individual"

To whom it may concern,

I am in the process of working on a Spanish-English volunteer translation for an agricultural school in Paraguay. The target text will be used in English-speaking parts of Africa. While translating, I came across the term "caravana individual."

Here is the term used in the following context: Cada animal deberá contar con "caravana individual" y registro individual.

In the following context, could "caravana individual" refer to "their own ear-tag" (a plastic tag on an animal's ear that provides their identification information)?

Here is my rough attempt: Every animal shall have their own ear-tag (with indenfication information), and individual records.

Yes, you have right. ""caravana" literally means "ear-ring" (see link http://www.wordmagicsoft.com/dictionary/es-en/caravana.php) but I would imagine that in the case of animals, as it is not for decoration but practical purposes, that "ear-tag" is more suitable.
