Another magazine ad term. Does it mean only one page is color? That doesn't seem right. the "en ... a ..." construction seems odd.

"Doble página de publicidad 210x280mm en papel 170-200gr. en primer pliego a color"

"pliego: (hoja de papel) sheet of paper; (imprenta e Industria editorial) section, signatrure; (documento) document'

Obviously, the second meaning applies here.

Correct - magazine, brochure, I am not sure what it is. But the first section is in colour.

Explanation:
What this means is that the ad will be placed on the first two available facing colour pages in the run of pages of the magazine.

In most older printers' the colour pages of a magazine or newspaper that isn't full colour are distributed according to the printing plates (you don't tend to have the luxury of being able to choose whatever pages you want in colour), and two facing each other isn't always easy to find.

So to sum up I think what they are trying to say is "first available colour double page spread".

As I've already mentioned in my other answers on the same subject, I used to work for a couple of different British papers here in Spain, and this type of vocabulary used to crop up all the time. Hope this helps clarify things a little. :-)

Asker: Do you mean to say: in the first section of the magazine that is in colour?
