For example, within the document: "Acciones especiales de alto impacto" or "acciones comerciales" or "acciones de marketing directo". 'Marketing actions' just doesn't sound right and I don't believe it is plans or strategies either...Thanks!

Open Development of Marketing Activities
While product development collaboration has made its mark principally within the computer industry, marketers may soon find collaboration holds value for them as well. Conceptually the idea of an OMP in marketing would involve a company recruiting specialists who voluntarily agree to work together to create and possibly execute a marketing program. The OMP team may be asked to follow certain guidelines established by the company but in general the OMP team would be free to develop as they see fit. It should be understood that the OMP team may or may not be compensated directly by the company (more on this later). A more likely scenario is for the company to provide certain tools (e.g., access to software, access to company market research, etc.) that will be used by team members as they develop their program.

On the surface it would appear the most likely marketing activities that may be candidates for OMP are in the areas of promotion and product development, though many others could emerge. Here are a few examples:

A company planning a print advertising campaign could persuade graphic artists to provide input into the development of a series of print advertisements by offering access to an online graphics software application.
Companies involved in event marketing could seek input from an OMP group who could develop an event plan and even execute certain tasks.
A company that markets after-market products for major industries, such as automobile, boating and housing, could use an OMP group to contribute to new product ideas and even contribute to the actual product design process.
An online content provider could institute an OMP in order to solicit ideas and designs for adding new content categories.
A marketing trade association may have an OMP team design marketing research tools that would be made available to association members.

What Activities Are Included In Marketing?
Marketing activities are numerous and varied because they basically include everything needed to get a product off the drawing board and into the hands of the customer. One look at our Marketing Mall Directory shows that the broad field of marketing includes activities such as designing the product so it will be desirable to customers (using tools such as marketing research and pricing; promoting the product so people will know about it (using tools such as public relations, advertising, marketing communications; and exchanging it with the customer (through sales and distribution.)
