Solitaire, desperately for lack of an alternative Explanation: 忍耐戯(ペーシェンス)=A card game called Solitaire, which is also called “patience.” (Agree with Nicholas. See aslo Wikipedia, et al) よくよく=Here it means; really (negative), badly, deadly, desperately しょうことなしの=against one’s will, for lack of na alternative 暇潰し=time killing Tentative Translation: As they call it Solitaire or a card game of patience, it was a desperate time killer for lack of an alternative.
