(screw) threads Explanation: Actually, this refers to the threads of a screw (which do look like little mountain ranges when you think about it). And ねじ山が発生 means the threads were 'stripped'. As for the 内面 part, I can only guess that it means the threads were stripped while the screw was still lodged in whereever it was being screwed (into). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2006-11-01 18:38:29 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Actually, I was wrong about the 発生 part. 発生 probably just means "where the threads start" on the screw. 'Stripped threads' would be 「ねじ山が剥離している」。 Anyway, ねじ山 means 'threads'! Ref: 「ねじ山とは、円筒又は円錐の表面にコイル状に作られた断面の一様な突起をいい、ねじ山を持った円筒又は円錐全体を「ねじ」といいます。」 http://www.sugita-ace.co.jp/topics/onepoint/contents_426.htm... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day4 hrs (2006-11-02 19:41:57 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Though it's not really part of your question, here's some more info. about 「発生」. I hope it helps. Joe 「ねじ山発生部から終端部までの巻き数。。。」 http://www.hatumeifile.com/jyoho/chosa/petbottle.htm (Scroll down to the first diagram under section entitled "サイズ調査".) |
