東北自動車道の浦和料金所からゴルフ場まで車で約５０分と、非常に地の利に恵まれ、春は桜、秋は紅葉、正面には陸の松島の別名を持つ県立大平山自然公園が眺望できる景観の良い、雄大なコース。

Apparently, 陸の松島 is the name of a view at the 大平山自然公園, but I am at a loss how to translate this...

It shows up on Google but I am not sure whether it should be treated as a place name (Riku no Matsushima?/Matsujima?), or if it should be translated more figuratively to describe the view?

Matsushima is a scenic view off the coast of Sendai where the poet Laureate (spell?) - so to speak - Basho Matsuo (Haiku Master) made that famous haiku, "Matsushima ya Ah Matsushima ya, Matushima ya".
Because Matsushima's scenic beauty is as such, there are few other places (if I remember correctly not just one) on the land of equal beauty, thus Riku no Matsushima. So you are correct by saying you should treat it as a place's name. It is a pronoun.

If asker is talking about陸の松島 in Tochigi pref.(no lagoon nor lake there) I agree with Susan.
prpnonciation of 陸 is riku in this case.

disagree  tappi_k: as far as I know the place is called 'Riku no M...' not 'Oka no M...', and I've a feeling you are talking about the Matsushima of Basho when you say 'lagoon' - this one isn't the same place (see Susan above)

Explanation:
Matsushima is a place in Miyagi Prefecture famous for its beautiful scenary. It is the area of the Pacific Ocean (bay, actually) dotted with lots of tiny islands. Now, 陸の松島 is the land version of it - instead of ocean with lots of tiny islands, it is a flat land with lots of little hills, making it look like the scenary in Matsushima. Looking at Google, there seem to be a lot of places that are called 陸の松島 and I don't think it should be treated as a proper noun. I would translate it as "Matsushima of the Land" and probably add a short explanation of Matsushima for English readers who don't know about it.

disagree  humbird: But then how "English readers" would know the siginificance of Matsushima? It is definitely a proper noun even (as I said in my answer) there are more than one Riku no Matsushima. Treated as proper noun it is easier for English reader to comprehend.

I know this ask has been closed, but I want a cmment for this ask, because there are some misunderstanding about "陸の松島".
This is not a proper noun but a kind of metaphor. You know "大平山(Oohira-yama)" in Tochigi is a famous place where visitors can see wounderful panorama consisted of many small hills and forests here and there like Mataushima, Miyagi Prefecture, where many small ilands with 松(pine tree) are scattered here and there wihtin Matsushima-Bay. However Oohirayama is not on the sea but on inland, so a modifier "陸の" that means "land" or "inland" is needed. Other word, in this case "松島" is a kind of pronoun representing a beautiful scene like Matsushima in Miyagi, and there are several places in Japan called "陸の松島" due to their scenic beauty alike Matushima.
