This appears in a list of requirements for a power transformer: "変圧器に混蝕防止版が入っているかの確認（はいっていない場合は日本で使用出来ません。）"

I've never seen "混蝕" used like that - would it mean some kind of shorting? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

混触防止板（こんしょくぽうしばん:contact preventing plate）

特別高圧又は高圧から低圧に変成する変圧器で,特別高圧巻線又は高圧巻線と低圧巻線との間に
設けた金属板。
混触防止板にはB種接地工事を施すが,2次側の系統接地は,非接地式を含めいろいろな接地方式の採用が可能である。

Asker: Just got an email from an American transformer manufacturer and they have no idea what "contact preventing plate" is :( Oh well, I guess I'll have to describe it in detail then, instead of trying to just translate... Thanks for your help though - that link is insanely useful regardless!
