Componenti della fabbricazione
• La tomaia : dopo essere stata tagliata, passa alla calzoleria dove viene unita alle altre componenti.
• Il contrafforte : realizzato in cuoio rigenerato (polvere di cuoio compressa) ; viene inserito fra la tomaia e la fodera per poter reggere il peso del piede. Nelle calzature da uomo il contrafforte è più corto perchè non deve sostenere il tacco. (Francesina e Derby hanno un contrafforte più lungo, che arriva fino a metà cava ; nei mocassini e nei tubolari il cambrione è molto più piccolo)
• La soletta : viene inserita all’interno della scarpa, al di sopra della suola. E’ imbottita in gomma per rendere la calzata più confortevole.
• Il cambrione di cava : è una piccola lamina in acciaio che viene inserita al di sopra della suola e conferisce ulteriore solidità alla scarpa.
• La suola : è la parte che viene applicata per ultima ; la suola delle calzature formali ha uno spessore standard di 3,5 mm ed è realizzata in cuoio.
• Il tacco : i tacchi sono realizzati in una resina chiamata ABS (materiale molto resistente) ; all’interno viene inserita una lamina d’acciaio bi-componente che lo rende ancora più resistente. Per tutti i tacchi viene effettuato un test di resistenza.
