Gabriele, in einem Segel gibt es mehrere waagerechte "Linien", die aus Bändseln bzw. Ösen bestehen. Dadurch kann man das Segel in mehreren Schritten verkleinern. Mit due mani sind also zwei Reihen gemeint. Bei automatischen Anlagen könnte man sogar sagen"zwei Handbreit reffen"

Asker: Danke euch beiden! Warum spricht man aber von due mani und sagt nicht einfach due terzaroli. Beim reffen wird die Fläche des Segels verkleinert. Ich glaube nicht, dass es sich dabei um 2 Segel handelt. LG
