Il contesto in cui compare il termine è il seguente (risoluzione problemi di una cassetta di controllo):

"Overload: e’ possibile controllare la corrente circolante nel vibratore con possibilità di intervento in presenza di sovraccarico. Portare il vibratore alla massima corrente di funzionamento (potenziometro al massimo) e ruotare il trimmer di overload fino all’intervento della PROTEZIONE segnalato dal blocco della tensione sul vibratore (Led rosso acceso). Ruotare quindi in senso antiorario di due tacche il trimmer di overload inserendo così la soglia di intervento a protezione del vibratore, togliere e ridare tensione per riattivare il circuito. E’ possibile escludere la funzione di overload agendo sul ponticello Y4."

Avevo trovato Sicherung, ma nello stesso manuale ho utilizzato il termine per tradurre "fusibile"...e quindi forse non è corretto in questo contesto...un'altra alternativa potrebbe essere un semplice "Schutz", ma non sono sicura.

Qualcuno ha un'idea migliore o i conferma uno dei due termini?

Explanation:
Davon würde ich hier sprechen. Fusibili und so weiter sind im Grunde genommen auch das Gleiche. Sie schalten ab, wenn's zu stark rüber kommt. Also Sicherung oder einfach nur Schutzschalter dürfte wohl auch reichen - und wer's technisch besser weiß ... gerne!!! Würde mich gerne belehren lassen.

neutral  Joan Hass: Ich würde nur Überlastungsschutz schreiben (auch wenn eine Sicherung im Grunde das gleiche ist) aber von Schalter ist im Text nicht die Rede, man weiss also nicht genau, wie der Ü-schutz hier aussieht

neutral  Lothar Remané: Stromfluss geschlossen/offen (unterbrochen) nach Betätigung = Schalter. Stromfluss geschlossen/offen nach Steuersignal = Relais, Transistor u.a. daher im engeren Sinn kein Schalter siehe http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schalter_(Elektrotechnik)
