Explanation:
Après détour par l'espéranto (la liste se retrouve un peu partout, par ex. sprawk.com) et les vieux dicos (Dizionario piemontese italiano, latino e francese, 1830, http://books.google.fr/books?id=eeiirYTwMagC&pg=PA94&lpg=PA9... il faudrait peut-être chercher du côté des milans, dont le nom de genre latin est Milvus.
A noter aussi une page sur le bestiaire médiéval en anglais qui fait la même association : http://bestiary.ca/beasts/beast544.htm.
Actuellement, le milan est plutôt "nibbio", d'après quelques pages de bird-watching et mon Atlas der wichtigsten Vogelarten. On dirait que la piste à suivre est celle des rapaces. HTH
