réduire la surface des oeuvres vives (=la partie immergée de la coque) Explanation: Alleggerire l'imbarcazione di modo che la parte immersa in acqua sia ridotta al minimo; in questo modo si riduce l'attrito con l'acqua e aumenta la velocità. Il senso è sicuramente questo; tuttavia neanch'io come Monique sono addentro al mondo della navigazione. Da una ricerca in internet ho scoperto che la parte dello scafo a contatto con l'acqua si chama "opera viva" (oeuvres vives in francese); ritengo quindi che si possa dire "réduire/limiter/etc. les oeuvres vives" oppure "la surface des oeuvres vives".
