Credo che in questo caso non ci si debba fermare alla mera parola, ma al senso della frase.
Probabilmente mi sbaglio, ma direi che questa "esperita" s'intenda come percezione del pubblico rispetto all'opera, cioè di come questa appaia agli occhi di chi la osserva.
