Contexte : il s'agit de l'église San Francesco della Vigna à Venise.
La chiesa, voluta dal
doge Andrea Gritti, venne
progettata da JACOPO
SANSOVINO e iniziata nel
1534. Il disegno originario, a
croce latina e con cupola,
venne modificato in seguito
alle raccomandazioni che il
frate minorita Francesco
Giorgi, esperto di cabala e di
proporzioni armoniche,
lasciò in un memoriale
firmato anche da Tiziano e
Sebastiano Serlio (1535).
I lavori terminarono nel
1572 e la consacrazione
avvenne dieci anni più tardi.
