| Reference Reference information: Tufted Underblankets Tufted underblankets are be made by a process whereby short, or long (often known as Flokati) tufts of wool are individually inserted into a pre-woven backing using a needling technique. Sliver Knit Underblankets Silver knit underblankets are made using a process which converts wool fibres directly to fabric without the need to produce a yarn. Individual wool fibres are interlocked into the base structure as an integral part of the knitting process. The resultant pile fabrics are very similar in appearance to natural sheepskin.
