The aricle is about how Israeli author, Meir Shalev, looks for stories in the Bible that are expressions of basic human experiences, such as love, hate, weeping, laughing, etc.

I would initially have gone for "search for our origins" ("hunt" wouldn't work), but the reference to Genesis, "in principio" "in the beginning" in the James I bible, requires "beginnings".
