Italian term or phrase: Capitolo Metropolitano
As far as I can make out it's a religious institution, but I'm not too sure if, and how it can be rendered in English. Here's the context:

"nessuno dei proprietari potrà più versare alcunché nelle casse del Capitolo Metropolitano"

He was formerly parish priest and Rural Dean of Kirkby. He is not, however, the most recently appointed member of the Chapter, as they have just appointed three lay members, two of whom are ladies. Now there’s a thought that might stir up the ***Metropolitan Chapter! ***

All the Anglican Cathedrals have recently undergone a major restructuring of their statutes and greatly broadened the basis of their answerability. It may interest you to know that the Dean and Chapter of Liverpool Cathedral have conferred an Honorary Fellowship (Canonry) on Mgr John Devine, who I’m sure is well known to all of you and is currently serving as the Churches’ Officer for the North West. They have also appointed a number of non-Anglicans to their wider Cathedral Council – including yours truly. Now that’s ecumenism in action!
