rights to a jointly owned half; (E&W) interests in a jointly tenanted moiety Explanation: Contrary to other ProZ commentators on similar French & Spanish questions, a moiety can be one-half, though it need not be. NB in EN registered conveyancing, joint tenants (owners) take an undivided one half each, whereas separate owners alias tenants-in-common can take in the proportions of 60/40 or 90/10 etc. Rights in land are often known as 'interests', to wit; an interest retained in possession of premises.
