Law/Patents - Real Estate / offer for debt collection services
Italian term or phrase: conservatoria
This is from a company offering a service that searches land registry offices for possible property owned by debtors. The problem is that "conservatoria" is used in the same sentence as "ufficio tavolare", evidently because the two offices are different, even though the two terms seem to have the same translation as "land registry office":

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks.

Land Registry vs. Land Survey (BrE: Index Map) Office
Explanation:
The ufficio tavolare is the catasto that keeps land registered by survey e.g. the Ordnance Survey in the UK by which nameless index map searches to trace land that is registered is done.

cadastre / cadaster / land office

Explanation:

Hope it helps

Pls consider following link:

https://www.google.it/search?q=land registry map&source=lnms...

Maybe following suggestion can be helpful:

CATASTO = Land Office
UFFICIO TAVOLARE = Land registry maps/plans division
(if you want to see the details after having been informed that
Mr. Smith owns two flats)

TAVOLA = table, map, plan

It is peculiar that in English you always speak of land.
I understand that on the plot of land there was a house, but nowadays what about town property?

neutral  philgoddard: This is a helpful explanation, but it doesn't really solve the problem of how you differentiate the two - and "cadaster" is not widely understood in English.

conservatoria - uffico tavolare - catasto
land registry office

Explanation:
The conservatoria dei registri (today Agenzia delle entrate, ufficio Territorio Servizi Immobiliari) is the registry of all the deeds that estabilsh modify or transfer rights on real estates. The Ufficio Tavolare does the same thing but with a different method of registration only for Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions. In the first one you can serch by name in the secon by bulding. In the specic case the meaning is that the company does not provide any serach service in the ufficio Tavolare.
The Catasto is the registry where are preserved the drawings (grafical represantation) of the properties. The catasto has two registries: buildings and lands
