Italian term or phrase: s.e.
This is an abbreviation in a bibliographic entry. I wonder if it might not mean "stessa editrice", i.e., Pirotta e Maspero, but in a different city, Livorno instead of Milano?

Palmieri, Giuseppe (1853) [1792], Della ricchezza nazionale, s.e., Livorno.

Given the conflicting responses we had to check this with the author, who indicated that it means without publisher, or the Italian "senza editore". I chose this response because it was the most complete, with the proper English abbreviation. Thank you for all the research.

Explanation:
Could be "stessa editrice", but not Pirotta e Maspero. Maybe they moved around the references or deleted one, and forgot to update. See here:

http://opac.almavivaitalia.it/IEI/result.php?dove=breve&useq...

That 1853 could be a re-printing from Naples 1792

s.n. (no indication of the publisher)

Explanation:
the term 's.e.' stands for 'senza indicazione di editore' o simply 'senza editore'. The English abbreviation would be s.n. from the Latin 'sin nominee' (without name).

Id.
