"La sera mi mettevano a dormire in un lettino di ferro con le sponde alte e une protezione tra l'asta superiore e inferiore: una rete di nylon, che ricordo *a rombi*."
Did the nylon net have a diamond pattern? Or does it mean something else? It comes up again later in the text:
"...mi alzavo in piedi nel lettino e cominciavo la scalata. Salivo lungo la rete, mettevo i piedini dentro *i rombi*, scavalcavo l'asta di ferro, rifacevo il percorso all'esterno, in discesa."
