I'd put it this way, it is synonymous with another philosophical concept, that is 'haecceitas' (i.e. 'thisness')

Come termine giuridico, riferito al diritto romano, la qualità o condizione di essere suus heres, il diritto cioè che ha il cittadino di ereditare i beni del pater familias, anche se questo muore senza testamento: i plebei, non essendo ancor cittadini, come ivan morendo, non potevano lasciare i campi ab intestato a’ congionti, perché non avevano suità (Vico); concetto esteso anche al diritto comune: quei successori, li quali nella robba del morto abbiano la ragione della suità, come sono li figli (De Luca). Aboutness is a term used in library and information science (LIS), linguistics, philosophy of language, and philosophy of mind. In LIS, it is often considered synonymous with subject (documents). In philosophy it has been often considered synonymous with intentionality, perhaps since John Searle (1983).
