Italian term or phrase: abachistica
Can anyone tell me if there is a specific term in English that corresponds to "abachistica" (which I am assuming is the use of the abacus in mathematics). The excerpt is from a study on Piero della Francesca's theories/writings on the use of perspective in art.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have!

Il debito di questo metodo nei confronti della pratica ***abachistica*** è stato da tempo segnalato e le ragioni della scelta di Piero della Francesca sono meglio comprensibili oggi di allora, poiché disponiamo di una ricostruzione documentata dell’ambiente entro il quale si è formato.

use of the abacus
Explanation:
I would translate "with regard to the custome of using an abacus". I don't think you will find an adjective and stylistically "abacistic practice" is unattractive to say the least.

"Per matematica dell'abaco o abachistica intendo la matematica dei mercanti, dei contabili, degli artigiani, degli architetti, degli agrimensori, dei bottegai, in due parole la matematica... "

Just for interest a person who used an abacus is an abacist.
