Archival Allignment Explanation: Archival alignment is a method used in electronic banking databases similar to paragraph alignment which is a method used in digital archiving to find literary sources. file upgrade Explanation: This means that a bank is just updating the data in a customer's files to comply with changes made. The term has been used a lot with the new Europe wide Sepa payments system, where account numbers and sort codes must me trasformed into IBANs, and the data formats must be sepa compliant. Back in 2007 or much before that, the upgrade was probably just to standardise transactions between the post office bank and the Ministry of Education. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2016-05-09 15:38:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "much before that" because who knows how long it took them to get to court. |
