deciding on the case after suspending judgment Explanation: the court had reserved to issue (i.e. had suspended) a judgment on a previous occasion (sitting), and now has finally come to a decision. It is a standard expression, and I think that "disregarding the reservation made previously" as proposed could also be OK. |
