un’opera in fieri opus in the making Explanation: The phrase works in Italian because of the word play on "opera = opera" and "opera in fieri = work in progress" but you can get something of the flavour with a translation along the lines of: The exhibition makes Giuseppe Verdi's opera an opus in the making. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2013-12-19 07:20:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The exhibition "turns GV's opera into an opus in the making" or "presents GV's opera as an opus in the making" would avoid the rather inelegant repetition of "mak-". |
