Asker: the thing is, that you are not really "elected", you just join the Order if you can prove you have been working for a magazine/newspaper for a while (a couple of years, I guess)

agree  Glenda Janssen: I think this is fine. I actually also don't see a problem with "registered journalist." "Registered" means you have certain qualifications, maybe passed a test, and then paid a fee to be part of the professional community of that kind of job...
