Un amico informatico mi ha spiegato che è il termine tecnico per definire l'apparecchio nuovo fornito temporaneamente quando l'apparecchio vero e proprio è in assitenza (se mi si rompe il laptop e lo devo porta in assitenza, per ovviare mi danno un altro pc, ossia un muletto). Qualcono conosce il termine tecnico inglese?

Ho visto che replacement equipment e substitute equipment la fanno da padrone e che mio contesto (noleggio), va per la maggiore replacement, ad esempio qui http://soluflex.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=25&Itemid=55
Inoltre ho visto che replacement domina nei siti .uk, mentre substitue ha la meglio nei siti .us e il mio testo è destinato all'europa.

Ho qualche volta sentito usare il termine "rig" nel senso nostrano di "muletto"... ma in un senso di "muletto" che significa in genere "computer vecchio/grezzo che deve fare un solo sporco lavoro e non importa sia un PC recente" (ad esempio "ho messo su un muletto come server di posta")... ma mai nel senso in cui intendi tu, e comunque in quel senso è molto gergale e non andrebbe mai in una documentazione ufficiale...

ma non ho mai sentito spare computer (a meno che non si sta riferendo al fatto che ho un computer in più)

Ho sentito "substitute computer" (come substitute car che l'assicurazione ti dà mentre riparano la tua).
