the Star of Merit for industry and agriculture Explanation: This is an official decoration conferred by the head of state. I'm not aware of a standard English translation for it, hence the above offering. I find the 'lavoro' bit slightly problematic, as none of 'labour', 'work' or 'employment' sound quite right to me, and the more snappy 'industry' on its own would exclude the field of agriculture.
