Italian term or phrase: subentrante
The term is found in the following sentence (and several other instances).
"Nei confronti dei lavoratori predetti, che vengano assunti dall' acquirente, dall' affittuario o dal **subentrante** in un momento successivo al trasferimento d' azienda, non trova applicazione l' art. 2112 del codice civile"

The discussion is about the treatment of employees "transferred" with a business or activity. In the UK, this would essentially be TUPE...transfer of undertaking.

I am having trouble settling on translation for "subentrante" in this context. Any comments with real insight greatly appreciated.

new employer (in context)

Explanation:
I don't think there's any set term for this. I always find myself examining the context and trying to come up with something reasonable. It just means the one that had taken the place of the previous one, where 'one' is *generally* a firm and the 'place' is a place of some degree of ownership and/or control or partnership.
