Explanation: Isabelle´s suggestion is fine, but you have to consider the whole text: avocato refers to the **liberi corrieri locali**, they claimed the right of delivering letters, and not only parcels, under first the Napoleonic law, then the Hapsburgic [...] against the official postmen. |
