Hi everyone,
so, I'm having a problem with this term. It's in a technical specification for a synchronous compensator and the whole sentence is:

esecuzione dei collegamenti di messa a terra di tutti i macchinari, le apparecchiature e le strutture metalliche in genere, compresi nella Fornitura, fino alle **cime emergenti** del dispersore d'impianto;

Unfortunately I can't seem to find what it is in English. Any ideas?

Explanation:
The "dispersore" is a copper or steel rod planted in the ground or in special materials ensuring good electrical contact, to provide dispersion of any electrical charges/currents to the ground.
That is where all "earth/ground" leads get to. Each machine therefore has to be connected to the tip of the "dispersore", obviously the tip which is emerging from the ground. HTH
