New hyped up name for interpreters and translator. Since. the US and UK doesn't seem to have a new hyped up name for them I suggest you use the old terms maybe with a literal translation "linguistic mediator" and "(interpreter/translator)" put in brackets immediately afterwards.

agree  simon tanner: exactly, as I said in my note. If Italian bureaucrats can call a dustman an operatore ambientale, something like this just had to be coming

disagree  Paul O'Brien: the word "translates" here jars too much with "interpreter and translator". what about "becomes" or "transforms"? but i need to see the rest of the sentence. for me it's completely meaningless as stands.
