Italian term or phrase: abilitazione informatica
I'm translating a list of exams which form part of a degree from an Italian university, each of which represents a training credit. The first of these is "Abilitazione informatica (1 livello)". It's the "abilitazione" that worries me, I thought of leaving it out altogether, but I wanted to check with you first if there is an equivalent in English or US universities. Thanks for the patience.

Basic IT Proficiency (exam/certificate)
Explanation:
Abilitazione implies an exam or certification or qualification of some kind, to me. As it is first level, it certainly is not a "major" in the discipline but perhaps a basic proficiency course (which many put on their CV as an added qualification).

I know it's soon to close the question, but they've brought forward the deadline and I have to close the job! This is absolutely perfect in any case, thanks.
