agree  Liset Nyland: read receipt is sent by the receiver manually, a delivery receipt is sent by the mail server and is only proof that the message has arrived.

agree  languagelear (X): Read receipt is best, but some programs (mozilla) call it return receipt the same as regular post. The difference with delivery notification was well explained in the 1st comment.
