agree  Franco Rigoni: secondo me va bene. In generale "americana" si traduce con truss (non sono delle verghe semplici, ma 2, 3 o 4 verghe in alluminio unite da dei paletti saldati). Puoi vedere vari esempi su google immagini. Però non so se si possa dire electric truss

neutral  Mr Murray (X): I have to agree with the prior comment. They are probably talking about the 'trusses' for lighting ( e.g. http://sldlighting.com/shopdisplaycategories.asp?id=24&cat=T... ). But, 'battens' are also stage supports, but not limited to 'electric' components.

  -> Well, see my reply above; maybe "truss" isn't 100% safe, but it looks like it's safer than "batten".
